Proceedings from Pacific Herring Summit Available

The proceedings from the Pacific Herring Summit held in June 2015 are now available. The Herring Summit launched the OMF’s working group on Pacific herring, and resulted in a conceptual model of the herring social-ecological system that was co-developed by the attendees, which included representatives of B.C. First Nations and U.S. Tribes, federal and state/provincial agencies, universities, the fishing industry and non-governmental organizations.

A manuscript based upon the Summit’s results has been drafted and submitted for publication in the ESA journal Environmental Health and Sustainability.

The OMF’s herring working group has been convened and will hold its first meeting January 21-22, 2016, in Seattle, Washington.

More information on the working group can be found here.
